Our Mission Statement
The Rutland Jewish Center is an egalitarian congregation committed to fostering and fulfilling the spiritual, educational and social needs of our local Jewish community. We strive to provide a nurturing home for Jewish worship, culture, learning and identity-building, encouraging every member to participate in congregational activities.

Our Vision Statement
We envision a membership that will fill our synagogue in worship, education, community service, celebration and joy. We strive to develop an involved, diverse membership, balancing our traditions, atmosphere and sense of community with an openness to change.

Founded in 1910, our congregation comprises approximately 100 households. The synagogue is located in the city of Rutland, in the lush Green Mountains of central Vermont.

Services are held most Friday evenings, usually starting at 8:00, with monthly family Shabbat Services and Potluck Suppers beginning at 6:00 (see Services page for the current schedule). Saturday morning services are held each week and begin at 9:30. Service times for holidays vary depending on the calendar.

The Center provides a full complement of educational opportunities including youth education, Bar and Bat Mitzvah classes, and adult education.

We are a warm and welcoming community — more accurately, a large family. Please come see us in person. We would enjoy meeting with you, worshiping with you, helping make your visit here a more pleasant one or your home here a more meaningful one. Thank you for visiting us.
