Phoenix Bookstore

Wednesday evening starting at 6:30 pm, please join us for a reading from Jack Fairweather, author of his new book "The Prosecutor: One Man's Battle to Bring Nazis to Justice" at the Rutland Phoenix Bookstore. The book is the powerful and true story of a Jewish lawyer who returned to Germany after WW II to prosecute war crimes only to find himself pitted against a nation determined to bury the past. Books may be purchased at Phoenix Bookstore. For more information please contact Martha or the RJC Office. 

Rutland Jewish Cemetery Workday

Our volunteers and donors have an incredible impact on the beauty of the Rutland Jewish Cemetery. Your help is crucial in maintaining the grounds, planting flowers, resetting borders and headstones, and cleaning gravesites. Everyone is invited to help. There is something for everyone to contribute,  regardless of age or ability.

We need lots of water [for cleaning headstones and drinking], shovels, topsoil, flowers, plants, bushes, grass seed, pry bars, a tamper, rakes, saws, etc. Please let Mj Hochberg know [802]236-4387 if you can help. 
Kathy Felder is organizing the workers' coffee, tea, drinks, snacks, and sandwiches that day. Contact Kathy if you can donate edibles. Please contact Mj for more information and to sign up to help us out. Monetary contributions can also be coordinated with the RJC Office.

Please join us for International Folk Dancing at the RJC. Come and dance, or you can enjoy sitting and watching. Please bring clean, dry shoes for dancing. For more information, please get in touch with Judy.

Meal ​Prep For Those in Need

Occurring several times a month, The RJC is proud to join the Companions in Wholeness ministry at the United Methodist Church, in preparing meals for those in need.  Volunteers are needed for all days. 

If you are interested in helping out in one of these dates in June, please get in touch with JUDY to find out which day(s) might need help.

Saturday, June 21 @ 9:30 am. Please join us for a Special Shabbat Morning Service, as the community extends best wishes to Rabbi Ellie Shemtov as she retires. Immediately following services, a luncheon will be held to honor her time as our Rabbi. President Kathy Felder is organizing the luncheon.
