With the beginning of the book of Deuteronomy, the Jewish year is in its final stretch. This week of Parashat Devarim always falls on Shabbat Chazon - the "Sabbath of Vision" - with a Haftarah reading describing Isaiah's vision of the siege of Jerusalem and the first temple.
This Shabbat always precedes Tisha B'av which we will commemorate on Wednesday evening July 22 (details arriving tomorrow). We will then gather for Shabbat Nachamu - the Sabbath of comfort - on the morning of Saturday July 25th.
