Sisterhood

The Rutland Jewish Center Sisterhood is a community association of women from the Rutland region. Active for more than 50 years, Sisterhood's mission is to:

  • Encourage the customs and traditions of Judaism
  • Encourage and support the religious school
  • Provide scholarships when appropriate
  • Encourage and support community service, and
  • Support the Constitution and Bylaws of the Rutland Jewish Center

Through the years, RJC Sisterhood has provided assistance to community projects including the Red Cross blood drives, the Well Baby Clinic in Rutland, the Rutland Women's Shelter, the hospital Book Wagon, and the local Community Cupboard food shelf. We sponsor the Kay Berger Award, given to a Rutland High School graduating senior. We encourage participation in the Rosh Hodesh group.

Membership in the RJC Sisterhood is open to members of the Rutland Jewish Center as well as nonaffiliated Jewish women in the area.
