Hebrew - Rabbi Weber

This week (Tuesday, June 5,) we had a quiz on 6 "new" (some, not really so new) vocabulary words in Chapter 6. We also rehearsed parts for this coming Friday night's Hebrew School Shabbat service; every child has a part.

HW:
1. Parents please sign the quiz and return it next week. 3 students got all six questions correct, 2 students missed two answers and 3 students missed 3 or more. If you missed more than 2 answers you will retake the quiz next week.

2. At the bottom of the quiz is a short homework assignment about other names for God. Parents might be interested in doing this with kids, as it is a "thought" question.

3. Please do the brief exercises on pages 55 and 56 of the text book.

4. Rehearse your part for the service. If you need help, I am available on Wed. afternoon, and Thursday afternoon until 5:15.

Wednesday night June 6 at 7:30 PM is our Education Committee meeting. It is your opportunity to have imput about next year.

See you on Friday, 6:00 PM. (Yes, I am aware of one student who can't be present.

History/Bible - Nancy Garfinkel

This week we had our last exam of the year. It looks like everyone studied for this test, because the results were very good. The average score on this test was 94! Well done everyone. I think next year I‚m going to have to make the tests harder : )

After the exam was over we had some time available for a quick round of prophets wheel of fortune (it was by popular demand). I chose a fairly difficult quote from the Psalms, but one that had been in the homework. It was solved very quickly. Again, I‚m going to have to work harder next year in order to stump the students.

Due to the excellent test scores and great participation by all in playing prophets wheel, there is no homework this weekend. In our last class of the year I will do a summary of all that we have covered so you can all see just how well you‚ve done this year in school.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Garfinkel

Enrichment:
Parents: Direct students to www.behrmanhouse.com where they can practice their Hebrew decoding
with “Click and Read Hebrew at Home” (the orange button) and drill prayer reading with “Click and Learn Prayer at Home” (the hot pink button). It’s also an ideal way for parents to practice along with their children.
