Hebrew - Rabbi Weber

Though we we originally scheduled for Jr Congregation on Dec 30, we are having some house guests and Jessica can use a break. Next Sat. Jr Congregation is Jan 13.

There is a Family Service and pot-luck on Friday, Jan. 5. Next Tuesday school is Jan 16.

History/Bible - Nancy Garfinkel

I hope that you all had a wonderful winter break and are now ready to get back to work.

We had a good class today.  Instead of the usual reading aloud and discussing the story, we did something a little different today.  With the artistic help of Joshua and Aliya's score keeping skills, we played Prophets Wheel of Fortune.  Everyone had their turns at the wheel and guessing letters and finally guessing the full puzzle.  Everyone worked very cooperatively and said that they enjoyed figuring out the puzzle.

For homework due next week:
Continue to work on your word search puzzles and finish them up.  I know they are difficult, but they contain key words to help you remember the material that we have covered in class to this point.

I had written some things on the board to do for homework, but I have decided that I would rather you finish the puzzle and review the chapters in the book for a test next week.  In light of that, please review the chapters covering: Deborah, Gideon, Samson and Ruth.

I had also written a Star Wars trivia question on the board.  What does it mean when an Ewok says "Yub-Yub"?  It means "Let's Go."

If you have any questions, either about the puzzle or material to be on the test, please feel free to email me.

See you next week.
Mrs. Garfinkel

Enrichment:
Parents: Direct students to www.behrmanhouse.com where they can practice their Hebrew decoding
with “Click and Read Hebrew at Home” (the orange button) and drill prayer reading with “Click and Learn Prayer at Home” (the hot pink button). It’s also an ideal way for parents to practice along with their children.
